CHARSADDA, Nov 28: Five persons, including chief of a local peace committee, were killed and two others injured in separate incidents in Charsadda district on Sunday.

Police said that local peace committee chief Niaz Ali and his friend Sher Khan were going home when they were attacked by their rivals in Ashara Koroona area. Niaz Ali died on the spot while Sher Khan suffered critical injuries. The attackers managed to escape, they said.

Later, relatives of Niaz Ali attacked the houses of their rivals, led by Ali Khan, and set them on fire.

The Battagram police station registered a case against Ali Khan and his sons Akbar Ali and Mohammad Ali on the complaint of a brother of Niaz Ali.

In another incident, unidentified persons opened fire on Naurang and his wife Gul Meena in Agra village of Prang area. Naurang was killed on the spot while his wife sustained injuries. Police registered a case against unidentified persons on the report of injured Gul Meena, who works in a private healthcare centre in Peshawar.

In the limits of Charsadda city police, Raham Gul was shot dead over an old enmity allegedly by his rivals Hasan Ali, Zafar Ali and Usman Ali.

Wakeel, a 14-year-old boy, was killed when his rivals allegedly opened fire on him in Sadiqabad village of Uthmanzai area. The slain boy's father Jamshed nominated Waseem and his father Ihsanullah in FIR. —Correspondent

In another incident, unidentified attackers called Keramat to come out of his house in Garoshah village of Mandani area and shot him dead. The accused escaped after committing the crime.
