KARAK, Dec 4: The central president of Pakistan Muslim League (Likeminded), Saleem Saifullah Khan, has said that his party will submit a bill in Senate for amendment in the Constitution to create more provinces in the country.

“The power of heads of political parties will also be curtailed through the new amendment,” he added. Talking to journalists here on Saturday, he claimed that problems of people would be resolved with the establishment of more provinces.

“Like Hazara, the new province of this area should be consisted of southern districts including some parts of Balochistan till Zob and Kurram and North and South Waziristan tribal agencies,” he said.

Mr Khan termed unlimited powers of political parties' heads against the spirit of democracy. He said that Senate should be more powerful as it was safeguarding the rights of small federating units. “The mentioned three amendments will be included in the 19th amendment bill, which will be tabled in the Senate within one week,” he added.

He said that the prime minister should have gone to Afghanistan after calling APC. “He would be more mandated if he had the support of politicians on Afghan issue,” he added.

Mr Khan said that Kurram Tangi Dam would be constructed very soon to benefit Lakki Marwat, Karak and Bannu districts. He added that they were in contact with the government to start work on the project as early as possible.
