After a couple of spirited performances, Pakistan women’s football team were handed a reality check courtesy a 12-0 rout by Nepal in the third Group-B match of first SAFF Women's Football Championship at Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh on Saturday.

The result also set up the semi-finals finals line up which is: Pakistan v India (20 December) and Bangladesh v Nepal (21 December).

Anu Lama, who fired hat-tricks against Maldives on 12 December and Afghanistan on 14 December, once again got on the score sheet for Nepal, landing the opener in the 15th minute. It was the eighth goal for Anu in the event.

Mira Maharjan doubled the lead in the 21st minute by whipping the ball past the Pakistani keeper from a 30-metre free-kick. Laxmi Poudel made it 3-0 when she made a run to Chandra Bhandari’s pass and completed a simple goal.

Nepal led 3-0 at interval but turned on the class in the second.

The goals came from Jamuna Gurung (50th, 87th, 88th), Pramila Rai (52nd), Sajana Rana (53rd) and Anu Lama (56th, 69th), Poudel (77th) and Rajana Darji (82nd)
