ISLAMABAD, Jan 17: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Monday urged the government to arrest the deteriorating law and order situation in Gilgit-Baltistan. “The recent attempt on the life of Jafarullah Khan, the PML-N ticket-holder from Gilgit-II, is evidence to the fact that the Gilgit-Baltistan government has failed to protect the lives of the citizens,” said Siddiqul Farooq, PML-N Gilgit-Baltistan Council Coordinator, while addressing a press conference here at party office.

Earlier, PML-N labour wing president Salamat Jan survived attack, he said.

He said, “if those responsible for attack on Jafarullah Khan and Salamat Jan were not arrested within one week, we will hold GB chief minister Mehdi Shah responsible for the incidents.”—Our Reporter
