ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue on Wednesday appointed Khawar Khurshid Butt as Member Inland Revenue. The post fell vacant following reshuffling of top tax officials last week.

The post monitors and executes revenue matters of over 89pc of total FBR collection, which includes income tax, sales tax and federal excise duty.

Through another notification, the FBR posted Abrar Ahmad Khan as Member RGST/ERPS; Syed Syedain Raza Zaidi as Additional Commissioner Inland Revenue, RTO-II, Karachi; and Dr Nasir Khan as Second Secretary FBR. And Haroon M. K. Tareen has been given an additional charge of the post of chief administration at FBR.

On attaining the age of superannuation, Sher Nawaz Member (Technical), Customs Appellate Tribunal, Peshawar stands retired from government service from July 11, 2011.—Staff Reporter
