SWABI, Feb 14: Speakers at a function on Monday asked the government not to hand Raymond Davis over to the US until Washington releases Dr Aafia Siddiqui from jail and returns her to Pakistan.

They, however, observed that tense relations between Islamabad and Washington would have far-reaching impact on the South Asian region.

The programme: “This House Believes that Aafia Siddiqui should be exchanged for Raymond Davis”, was part of the concluding session of All-Pakistan Parliamentary Debates Competition held at the Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology.

The competition was organised by the Literary and Debating Society (LDS) of GIK Institute. Sonou Rehman, former president of the Debating Society of Pakistan, was chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony.
