Marine Drive, next to Wankhede Stadium, was a massive throng of screaming, flag-waving fans bursting with unconfined joy and relief at India’s win in the World Cup final. Many stood on top of cars and trucks blaring their horns. Others danced to drumbeats. Still more chanted “India, India.” India won the World Cup for the first time since 1983 with a six-wicket victory over Sri Lanka on Saturday. – Photos by agencies

If india wins toss they choose to bat first and they ask ground staff to spray a special chemical within next 30 minutes (time between toss and first innings). This chemical does not let the dew build up in second innings (when India balls).
However, if India looses toss and they have to bat second then they do not ask ground staff to spray that chemical. They want opposition team to ball with wet ball.
Ever wonder why this world cup had all important matches as day night. It was because India had planned all this. Dew factor only comes in day night matches.
Most people think it is not a big deal. Trust me Dew factor impacts the match result. India played this to their advantage.
There was no dew when India bowled second at Mohali. However, there was tons of dew when Srilanka bowled at bombay. The results of the world cup have been affected due to careful planning.

Sachin is a great player and decent, mature person too. All cricketer should learn from him how to speak, where to speak and what to speak. Now India cricket team is better than before but these IPL and AD money making them to concentrate less on cricket and more in glamors. Still its time to earn money with name and fame. By the way, the dawn news paper way of news presentation is very good, mature and interesting. I think, cricket will play to win the heart of all indian and pakistani to get more closer and to have a good relationship. Thanks to DAWN, not publishing senseless news to get more comments from indian or pakistanis with some hindu muslim related news or india is bad or blah blah...

I m a Pakistani but this world cup, my favorite team was India all along....emotions are another thing, i had wanted pakistan to win the cup but having seen the exceptional performances from the Indian side throughout the tournament, i had an intuition that no other team wud be the winner!Needless to say, i m a huge fan of tendulkar! he is a true legend and india deserved to win before he retired, and this is wut happened!
truth is: i became a fan of the entire indian team.....much much props for the exceptional display of cricketeering and congratulations to the indian nation! :)
