KARACHI, May 18: Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC) on Wednesday acquired a handy-size bulk carrier for its subsidiary company, Sibi Shipping (Pvt) Ltd. The mv Sibi is 28,442 deadweight tons and was built in 2009 by Imabari Shipbuilding Co Ltd, Marugame, Japan.

The vessel has been purchased from a company named Arista One Inc. and was taken over at Port Klang, Malaysia, by the PNSC crew.

The acquisition of mv Sibi is in line with PNSC’s commitment to modernise and strengthen the national flag carrier of the country, says a press release.
