KARACHI: The Sindh government has formed a Joint Interrogation Team (JIT) on the directives of the federal government to probe the May 22 terrorist attack on Pakistan Navy’s Mehran airbase in Karachi.

“An eight-member team has been formed comprising officials of police, Inter-Services Intelligence, Military Intelligence and Intelligence Bureau,” Sindh IGP Fayyaz Leghari said.

Talking to APP, the IGP said that the investigation had already been launched and efforts were being made to arrest the perpetrators of the attack.

Ten personnel of Pakistan Navy and Rangers were killed and 15 others injured in clashes with the terrorists after the attack. Four of the attackers were also killed.

Two surveillance planes of Navy were destroyed by the terrorists.—APP
