Tharparkar is an arid area of the Sindh Province. It comprises four administrative units: Deplo, Chahro, Mithi and Nagarparkar.
Tharparkar is a historic place with rich biodiversity. Cattle farming and agriculture are main sources of income for the Thari people. Various Hindu and Muslim communities live here, and their houses are made of clay and dry grass. These simple homes are called Chaunwra.
Thar is a place where water is considered as the most precious commodity. - Text and photographs by Hussain Afzal/Dawn.com

The angles are somewhat strange, hopefully these simple people were not photographed without their knowledge and permission

Thar is the natural extension to Rajasthan.
The division of 1947 is a disgrace.

There should be captions with each photo describing the photos itself and the depiction. Some body who has never seen such places will have lot of queries about them.

Lovely pictures. I would love to see more pictures of this magnificent part of Pakistan. Are there any roads, highway systems in this area. What about a master plan for this region? Are there any colleges / universities in the region to service the population?. If you have any links for me to educate about this region please share.
