PESHAWAR, Jan 29: Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti on Sunday rejected the impression concerning use of other districts’ funds in Mardan and said that the government believed in uniform development of all the districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to improve the socio-economic conditions of the people. “I can’t even think of using funds of other districts in Mardan. Development is the right of people of Mardan because it was neglected in the past,” he said while speaking at a function after laying the foundation stone of a road at village Kharkai in Mardan district.
On this occasion, the relevant officials informed the chief minister that extension and construction of the seven kilometres road from Karkai police station to Shaheedaan Kundawo would be completed with an estimated cost of Rs100 million in nine months. Likewise, Rs11 million would be spent on construction of a canal to Qasmi area and Rs8.6 million on rebuilding another seven kilometres road.
Mr Hoti directed the officials concerned to complete the development projects in the given time.
Awami National Party’s coordinator Abbas Khan, Javed Yousufzai, district president Farooq Akram, president PK-28 Juma Khan, Zafar Ali and officials of the district administration were also present on the occasion. — APP
