India defeated Pakistan by six wickets in the Asia Cup one-day tournament in Dhaka on Sunday.
Virat Kohli smashed a 148-ball 183 as India achieved the stiff 330-run target with 13 balls to spare in the day-night match, the first between the two teams since the World Cup semi-final at Mohali last March.
Nasir Jamshed (112) and Mohammad Hafeez (105) earlier hit centuries as Pakistan scored a challenging 329-6 after electing to bat.

Pakistan needs batsman like Virat in thier team. He is a very talented young batsman, someone who can be an inspiration for young and upcomming cricketers in Asia. Unfortunatly Pakistan fast bowling was way far below its usual standards. Both Wahab Riaz and Cheema were technically very inaffective in front of india's top & middle order. About Umar Gul, well after his devastating performance in World cup last year, he shoud and must hang his boot - seriously for the sake of Pak cricket.

It was a great match to watch. Nothing like an Indo-Pak game to get the competitive juices flowing. Good stuff from both teams !

Kohli... what a player!!
Comments for Misbah:
1- No point playing Wahab as a 7th bowler instead of a specialist keeper;
2- If our 6th bowler Azam (an all-rounder) is never going to bowl, then surely a specialist batsman would be better in his place: Asad Shafiq*.
* I would rather keep Azam in the team and utilize him as an all-rounder, and let him bowl a few overs.

India played well especially Kohli and deserved to win. Our bowlers & fielders also helped them.Team selection was poor which also contributed to Pak loss. They should have kept the same team which played against Sri Lanka with a speacialist wicket keeper and should have Hammad bowled some overs. What is the point in selecting a player if he is not utilized. I think we need to have a proper study and planning to execute with our players to give 100%. The body language of our team, while bowling & fielding did not reflect this.

Pakistan should have scored 20-30 runs more in last 10 overs after exceptional platform they got from the openers.Hats off to India how they executed their plan for chasing this mammoth target.India should now seriously improve their bowling deparment and should have atleast one strike bowler.Ashwin was good but was not as impressive as ajmal.

What a message Waqas. I'm an Indian. We are just fools to be quarrelling against each other. We are the songs of the same mother. The Britishers divided us. We should be together, prudent, and non-violent.

You need to play for the nation not for personal achievements. Both Pakistan opener got out as they made centuries. They were set in the field and could have made more runs as Virat Kohli did for India.

I don't believe in conspiracy theories, but Pakistan shouldn't have lost this match with that high score. Also, I as Pakistani embarrass watching Pakistan fielding; I don't know why they themselves are not embarrassed. They must be ashamed with their fielding standard. You are not a street team only but an International one.

Thanks yar... just to add: even Younus Khan can bowl better than Wahab.
At least Azam and Younus are likely to be less erratic (wont spray on the legs so much) and their slower pace may help, as it worked for Dinda, Kumar, and Irfan at the death.

Ashwin is better as he uses genuine Technic and fair straight arm for deliveries. In case of Ajmal watch it on your TV screens it is so visible.

good match to look on. both the teams played to their potential, but it was well executed by indians. pak was short of 20-30 runs which it could have achieved from getting a good start.

Pak’s Captain couldn't build the pressure on Indian batsmen. He had golden opportunities from the 2nd ball of the game and the second time when Saeed Ajmal started his spell. The Captain removed both bowlers after their first over. What was he thinking? This was a match he gave away. Well done Virat.

The problem is that the Pakistani players are under too much pressure against India. The players in their eagerness to CRUSH INDIA - tend to lose their natural rhythm.

Kohli & Rohit are future Tendulkar, very well done and congrats to Indian team
For Pakistan there is crucial need to replace the captain with some one energetic and ready to take challenges, plan and be proactive to make right decisions on right time, Afridi is an exceptional option under utilized.
Misbah, Younus & few old players should pave way for new talent, their learning period has far gone so new talent to be tested, was a golden opportunity to test few good players in Asia cup and plan for world cup.

I still dont understand a thing, how come paki bowlers always have bad fielding and bad bowling line against india(short-balls) when Mohammad hafeez took the first wicket in first over, why he didnt come back for 3rd over? why hammad azam didnt get a chance of bowling? also never got 2nd over against bangladesh when he took a first wicket in 1st over 1/6. I think it was all set up, how come Anwar ali never got any chance in a world cup or Asia cup, sarfaraz ahmed came from the same team as Anwar ali, he got a chance, and Anwar ali took 7 wickets on u19 world cup against India, and gave only 20 runs. I would say get Anwar ali in paki team and change Captaincy and stop taking bribes!

Very right,,, and there are many more examples, to say in cricket only where we find talented ones are left unnoticed. I cant understand why people at affairs of PCB donot respect about almost every Pakistanis feeling and bring best players to the game. We just need to ameliorate few slots and we can be No 1 team in the world.

Well. I agree India vs Pak-Asia, game seemed set up. If you look at previous match such as T20, where India and pakistan tied and they had to bowl to win. All Indian side bowled wickets and our side none.
Lately, Indians got more billionories, millioniers then Pakistan and India shows it's so called "super power" muscle in South Asia-and thus can easily buy our team rightout because of their huge purchasing power.
Logically, it's more profitable for our team to take twice the money and live like a king for few days-moment bangali's start to do the same, Pak team will go to them for money!
