HCCI: President of the Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry Goharullah has rejected the Sales Tax 191 SRO on the sale of goods by registered and unregistered traders.

In a statement issued here on Monday, Mr Goharullah said that FBR was complicating tax laws instead of giving facilities to businessmen. He demanded that the said SRO sales tax must be withdrawn so that trade community might continue their business without any fear.

Member of the HCCI managing committee Haji Mohammad Yaqoob said that SRO sales tax directed traders to sell their goods 60 per cent in March and 80 per cent in May while Rs5,000 penalty would be imposed on wrong entry of national tax number and CNIC which was unbearable.

He claimed that implementation of SRO 191 would have a negative impact on tax culture, opening doors of corruption.
