ISLAMABAD, May 9: Of the 25 MNAs belonging to the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, 13 are millionaires, but most of them owe the wealth to their spouses or mothers who have inherited jewellery and immovable property.

According to statements of assets submitted to the Election Commission for 2011, Fauzia Ejaz Khan is the wealthiest legislator of the party with net wealth of Rs60.63 million. She owns a house worth Rs40 million in the Defence Housing Authority, Karachi, and 100 tolas of gold, other assets and cash.

MQM parliamentary leader Dr Farooq Sattar has assets of Rs4.59 million, but a major chunk of his wealth belongs to his wife who owns 300 grams of gold valued at Rs75,000 and a house worth Rs0.80 million.

Mr Sattar also owns a house valued at Rs0.63 million.

Wasim Akhtar has assets of Rs14.8 million. He inherited two properties worth Rs3.5 million and two other properties worth Rs6 million are in the name of his daughter and son. He owns a Toyota Prado. He has invested Rs3.3 million in various ventures.

Haider Abbas Rizvi has assets of Rs19.92 million, including business holdings worth Rs6.6 million, gold jewellery of Rs5.64 million and Rs5.68 million cash.

Khawaja Sohail Mansoor has assets of Rs50.94 million, including two properties in Canada and two in the UAE.

He has loans of Rs1.18 million and Canadian dollars 805,000.

Manwer Lal’s assets are worth Rs42.72 million, including Rs10.99 cash in hand or banks, while he received Rs12.75 million in remittances. His wife has jewellery worth Rs5.5 million.

Sufyan Yousuf has assets of Rs23.05 million, including a house worth Rs18.5 million belonging to his mother who also owns 700 tolas of gold jewellery.

He has Rs0.45 million in cash.

Farhat Mohammad Khan has a $750,000 business in the US and $873 and Rs0.65 million in local banks. He and his spouse do not possess any property in Pakistan.

Khushbakht Shujaat has assets of Rs16.35 million, including a business worth Rs10.85 million and property valued at around Rs1 million. She has liabilities and loans of Rs2.5 million.

Kishwer Zehra has assets of Rs17.18 million and $42,569 in banks. She owns two cars valued at Rs1.97 million and a business worth Rs3 million.

Abdul Rasheed Godil has a Rs50,000 business and the total value of property, assets and jewellery owned by him and his spouse amounts to Rs11.48 million.

Dr Nadeem Ahsan has assets of Rs4.46 million, including a property valued at Rs1.5 million. His wife and daughter own gold jewellery worth Rs935,000 and Rs440,000, respectively.

Dr M. Ayub Sheikh has assets worth Rs3.65 million, including gold jewellery of Rs1.20 million belonging to his wife.

He owns a flat in Surjani Town, Karachi, worth Rs900,000 and a car valued at Rs950,000. He has Rs500,000 in banks.
