Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat is the for Minister Housing and Works

Born in Lahore 1952, Hayat is a graduate of Institute of South Asia, FC College University, Lahore and also holds a masters degree in law and a diploma in business administration from Kings College, London.

A prominent businessman and agriculturalist, he started his political career with the Pakistan People's Party. He has served as a member of Central Executive Committee of PPP in 1979, Federal Minister for Commerce and Development from 1988-1990 and has been elected as Member of National Assembly multiple times. He later went on to join Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians PPPP-Patriots and then the Pakistan Muslim League (Q).

Hayat has served as the Minister of Housing and Works since June 2011.
