KARACHI: Pakistan’s women football team is off to Colombo, Sri Lanka to participate in the SAFF Women’s Championship from September 7-16.

Pakistan is in Group B with Nepal, Maldives and Afghanistan, according to the draws unveiled by the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF). India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Bhutan are in Group A.

The event will be held under round robin system and a leading and runner up team from each group will make it to the semifinals to be held on September 14. The final will be played on September 16.

Pakistan will face Nepal in their opener on September 8 and Afghanistan on September 10 followed by their last group game against Maldives on September 12.

Sana Mahmud (Captain), Hajra Khan (Vice Captain), Mahpara Shahid Bukhari (Goalkeeper), Nida Awan (Goalkeeper), Malika Noor, Roshnan Ali, Nadia Bhatti, Asmara Habib, Asmaa Usman, Mehwish Khan, Rafia Perveen, Shaguffta Akhter, Humera Nazir, Afshan Altaf, Shahlyla Baloch, Sohaila Zarrian, Shahida Raza and Mejzgaan Orakza. The officials are Muhammad Rashid (Coach), Kiran Ilyas Ghouri, (Assistant Coach), Subid-e-Gull (Physio) and Uzma Yousaf Zaidi (Manager).
