LAHORE, Dec 27: The Member Inspection Team of the Lahore High Court has initiated an inquiry against a senior civil judge, Amir Habib, on charges of embezzlement of funds.

The LHC administration had issued Rs5 million to Habib during his posting in Faisalabad in 2010 for the purchase of computers and furniture for civil judges. Contrary to the instructions, the judge had procured laptops instead of desktop computers and kept six for personal use.

The MIT confiscated all the laptops along with complete record and sought an explanation from Habib.
