ISLAMABAD: The father of a Pakistani officer investigating a corruption case against the prime minister has questioned whether his son's death was an act of suicide.
Abdul Hameed said on Sunday, there were marks on the wrists of his son, Kamran Faisal, indicating his hands had been bound. Faisal's body was found Friday hanging from a ceiling fan in his room at a government dorm in Islamabad.
Local police chief Qaiser Niaz disputed Hameed's claim, saying an autopsy report by a team of six doctors said there were no suspicious marks on the body. Police are still treating it as a suicide.
Faisal's death came days after the Supreme Court ordered the arrest of Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf and 15 others in connection with a corruption case the officer was investigating.
