KARACHI, May 6 In a bid to clear country's image on the international level, Pakistan Boxing Federation (PBF) officials believe that the government must organise international events in Pakistan.

“We have planned Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed International boxing tournament in August this year. Everything is planned and what we need is a go ahead signal from the government authorities,” a PBF official told PPI.

“We are trying our best to clear the image of Pakistan and for this reason we have planned the championship. It would be an irony if the government doesn't allow us to hold the event,” he said.

He further said the PBF expect at least 15 to 18 countries to arrive in Pakistan for the event.

PBF president Doda Khan Bhutto expressed hope that the government would allow them to hold the event. “We have sent a strong application and I am confident that the authorities concerned will give us an NOC to go ahead with the tournament,” Doda concluded.—PPI
