Basketball title for KU

KARACHI, April 3 The Karachi University retained the Inter-University Zone 'F' basketball title inflicting a massive 67-28 defeat on Iqra University in the final at the NED University court on Friday.

The winners led 41-11 at half time in the one-sided encounter.

KU which chalked up an 80-38 victory over the Aga Khan University the other day dominated the match true to their reputation.

Three players — Hammad Hussain, Agha Mohammad Ibrahim and Mohammad Shabbar — figured prominently in their triumph finishing in double figures. Hammad ended up with 17 followed by Aga Ibrahim 15 and Shabbar 12. They were followed by Haroon Khan (9), Syed Adnan Ali (6) and Idrees (4).

Ali Saleem (7), Farhan Ghori (6) and Saqib (5) contributed for losers. Both the teams have already qualified for the final round of the Inter-University basketball championship which begins on April 8.
