KARACHI, Feb 2 Syed Abbas Raza kept his cool to breeze past former Sindh No 1 Vinod Das in three gruelling sets to made it to the last eight in the men's singles of second Sindh Open ranking tennis tournament at Beach View Club on Monday.

Abbas seized the lead by taking the opener which was extended to tie-break 7-6 (4) only to concede the next 4-6 to come on even terms. However, he got his act together to win the decisive set 6-3 and the match.

On the other hand, sibling Zuhair won his match against Abdullah Khan 6-0, 6-0 in contrasting style.

Three seeded players Nomi Qamar, Yasir Khan and Nasir Mushtaq also propelled into last eight with convincing victories.

Second seed Nomi accounted for Ali Zubair 6-1, 6-1, third seed Yasir beat Naresh Das 6-1, 6-2 and fourth seed Nasir overcame Abdul Rehman 6-2, 6-2. Top seed Aqeel Khan had already moved into the quarter-finals the other day.
