NAWABSHAH, May 15: After four days of continuous strife, activities of routine life returned to Nawabshah city on Wednesday.

Armed clashes erupted over allegations and counter allegations on Saturday night, taking the lives of three Muttahida Qaumi Movement supporters and one Pakistan Peoples Party man while wounding dozens of others.

Police, Rangers and army personnel patrolled the city streets to restore law and order but have so far only been able to prevent further flare-ups.

However, the tension seemed to let up on Wednesday as all the main markets and bazaars including Sarafa bazaar, Liaquat market, Chakra bazaar, Mohni bazaar, Kutchehry Road, Masjid Road, Sakrand Road, Mariam Road, Hussaini Road, Qazi Ahmed Road, Hospital road and others reopened and traffic flow resumed on them.

Attendance in schools and other educational institutions also came back to normal and a rush of people was observed in markets in the morning hours.

Body found The body of a man, aged approximately 30 years, was found on Wednesday in Mari Jalbani area, near Sakrand.

The body, bearing torture marks, could not be identified and was shifted to a nearby hospital for a post-mortem examination.

No case had been registered till Wednesday night.
