RAWALPINDI, Dec 10: Investigations have been started into the “corruption” allegations levelled against the superintendent of police traffic (SP traffic) Rawalpindi, a source said on Monday.

On a written complaint against Waqar Haider Bhatti, the SP traffic, Rawalpindi, IGP Punjab Malik Asif Hayat ordered the DIG Rawalpindi to probe into the matter and submit a report as soon as possible, the source said.

In the wake of the IGP’s order, the DIG directed the SSP Rawalpindi to investigate into the complaint against the SP traffic. The complainant has not identified himself, the source added.

Furthermore, the SP Saddar Circle, Dr Mohammad Azam, was appointed the inquiry officer, he said.

When the SP traffic was contacted for his comments on the complaint against him, he gave no response.
