It connects Germany to Switzerland, France and is extended to Italy. There is another similar project connecting Germany to Denmark and Sweden.

Its basically in the Swiss Alps. Its main purpose is to improve trade between Germany and Italy, and by transfering freight items load on railway system which is environmentally better than trucks. In addition, this would also cut short the passenger travel time between Zurich and Milan.
