LAHORE, June 4: Punjab won three gold medals on the first day of the Inter-provincial U-14 Karate Championship for Boys at the Iqbal Park Sports Complex here on Tuesday.

Punjab’s Kazim Raza grabbed gold medal in the 35kg weight category while Nazir of Sindh won silver with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Mubeen and Fata’s Amir Khan attaining bronze medals.

In the 50kg weight category, Rehan Safdar of Punjab earned second gold for the host province with Rashid Ali of Sindh notching up a silver medal while Fata’s Bilal Khan and Aaqib Javed of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa seized bronze medals.

Punjab grasped the third gold medal followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa taking silver and bronze medals respectively in the team kata.

In the Individual category, Sindh’s Nazir Ahmed snatched the gold medal with Bilal Khan of Punjab claiming second place while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Haris Habib managed to win bronze.
