The tournament’s two most flamboyant teams Pakistan and the West Indies take on each other today in what promises to be an action-packed day. It will be a battle of match-winners as both sides boast an array of talented, if not always consistent, match-winners with West Indies fielding hard-hitting batsmen such as Chris Gayle and Johnson Charles, while Pakistan's attack features star off-spinner Saeed Ajmal and giant left-arm pacer Mohammad Irfan.

I let the ball do the work and got the early wickets for the team. It is great to win the first match and we are very relieved. Pakistan are a very good side and now we go on from here and hope to give another good performance. -Man of the match Kemar Roach

I have to give credit to my boys, they did very well. Kemar Roach set the tone getting the wicket in the first over. It was a close game and good to get it out of the way. Hopefully, we can build from this tough situation. We wanted to get the best out of the bowlers and then backed our batters to chase the target. I think the plan was to see off the new ball but we did the opposite and lost too many wickets at the top. Credit goes to them because they bowled well. We kept on losing wickets, if you make mistakes your team has to suffer. It only matters if you score runs and your team wins, otherwise it does not matter. I am happy the way the bowlers bowled. FOUR! Roach smacks Junaid over the covers to give the West Indies a thrilling two-wicket win in the second match of Group 'B'. Could Misbah have gambled with Hafeez with the tail in? It was a match dominated by some great pace bowling, first by Kemar Roach, who had come in a after little break to rattle the Pakistanis up at the top and set the tone for the rest of the match. He was ably supported by Narine who put the breaks and got the wickets and out of the Pakistani batsmen, only Misbah (96*) managed to play an innings of substance. Sadly though, he missed out on the first ODI century of his career by just 4 runs after running out of partners at the other end! Pakistan came back well with the ball, Irfan (9-32-3) and Wahab (10-42-2) extracting some nasty bounce to catch the edge of the West Indian mainstays and Ajmal also chipping in with vital wickets. In the end, Pakistan total of 170 was about 20 runs short on a pitch which seemed harmless but did have some surprises in it.

WICKET! Irfan picks up Narine who attempted a needless cut off that wide delivery! Next man in Ravi Rampaul is a capable bat though. But Bravo has sent in Roach! 6 runs to go, 2 wickets in hand.

Ajmal concedes 8 runs from his final over and though it seemed for a moment that there was going to be more drama, the game now seems to be well within the grasp of the Windies! Narine and Ramdin looking solid here despite the pressure. 9 runs from 11 wickets, 3 wickets to go.

WICKET! A string of boundaries and then Wahab gets the prized wicket of Pollard! Pakistan can believe yet! This once again was a fast rising delivery that the batsman edged to the keeper. Powerplay on 34 from 14.3 with 4 wickets to go! Ramdin walks in. Surely, Misbah must gamble with Ajmal from the other end.

Junaid Khan back into the attack, he will be looking to get some reverse going! Bravo and Pollard just need to work it around and the West Indies will be home and dry. Pakistan, it seems, will have to force the issue.

Wahab starts after the drinks break and his second spell will need to be as good as the first if Pakistan are to win this! He has often been found wanting with his accuracy in his second spell but there's no room for that today. 58 from 19 overs now.

Captain Bravo and Pollard at the crease now as Irfan comes back into the attack. He's picked up 2 for 24 so far and has troubled the batsman his menacing length.

Hafeez into the attack and picks up a wicket with his very first ball! Wow! That's the big one of Samuels too! Hafeez threw it up and the batsman charged, the delivery held its line and Samuels was found miles out of his crease! WI 96/5 in 26 overs.

FOUR! Pollard finally manages to get one away! It was just a short-arm jab and it almost landed outside the boundary rope. Ajmal won't mind this too much and will perhaps continue to throw the ball in the air! It's time now that Hafeez also has a go with the ball because if Samuels and Pollard stick around any longer, this will be out of Pakistan's hands!

Wahab bowls that one at 149 kph and Keiron Pollard takes evasive action! That one flew like the WACA of old, something Jeff Thomson would have produced back in the day! The good thing about Wahab so far has been his control despite bowling quick.

West Indies, after a few early hiccups, have eased to 72/2 in 16 as the players take a break for drinks. At this stage it seems quite simple for Bravo's men. The little bit of bite that the pitch offered after the light shower has gone. The ball is spinning but there's isn't enough zip to trouble the batsmen.

4,4,4! First Samuels flays Junaid over the cover and then Gayle get's in on the act, taking Irfan to task! Is it time for Pakistan to introduce Mohammad Hafeez, who is excellent against lefties? It could be a gamble but with a 170 to defend it's not something Pakistan can mull over for too long. WI 44/2 in 9 overs.

This is the battle everyone had been waiting for, Gayle vs Irfan, one giant against another and its terrific to see a swashbuckler like Gayle fending some away from his chest! Gayle replies in typical fashion though, smacking Irfan way over his head for a big SIX! The next delivery goes for four legbyes as Gayles makes room to heave it over the infield! 10 runs from that over. WI 30/2 in 7.

The hero for the West Indies at last year's World T20, Marlon Samuels, now walks in and he too is greeted with a few sharp ones from Irfan.

Irfan gets another one! Darren Bravo, Lara's lookalike, gets a peach, the ones fast bowlers dream of. That ball rose of a length and moved away just a shade, getting the shoulder of Bravo's bat and Kamran Akmal completes an easy catch!

Irfan falls and Misbah misses that elusive century yet again! But what a knock from the Pakistani captain, to have taken his team to a total of some respectability. Misbah remains not out on 96 off 127 balls with 5 fours and 3 sixes! For all the criticism Misbah gets for his batting, this innings shows exactly why he cannot afford to be 'free flowing'. Pakistan's 170 will at least their bowlers a workout and if they manage to get a few early on maybe make a game out of it! For the West Indies Kemar Roach (10-28-3) was excellent early on as he sliced through Pakistan's top order and left them on the mat from there on. He found an excellent strike partner in spin magician Sunil Narine (10-34-3) , who struck regular blows to prevent a Pakistani fightback.

Luck's not with Pakistan today! Misbah slam that one straight where Bravo gets a finger at it and Wahab is found well short at the non-striker's end! Pakistan, who were being touted as pre-tournament favourites, slump to 128/7 in 36.

Wahab Riaz can strike the ball but can he stay put for a bit? Misbah will need a cushion of at least two wickets when time comes to blaze it! West Indies have shown here how a little bit of discipline on these relatively harmless English tracks can pay rich dividends. Pakistan, it seems at this point, will need a little bit more than discipline when they come out to bowl, otherwise it could all be over very soon. PAK 128/6 in 36.

Just when it seemed Pakistan were negotiating Sunil Narine well, Jamshed gifts him a wicket! He was trying to play inside out to that flighted delivery but ended up playing straight into the hands of Rampaul at long off! The vital, 90-run partnership ends, Shoaib Malik walks in. PAK 105/4 in 29.2

Jamshed survives! He had tried to drive on the up ala Farhat and that edge off the bowling of Bravo landed right between the hands of Ramdin and first slip! Keiron Pollard now comes into bowl. He's the kind of bowler Pakistan have most trouble getting away, similar to Chris Harris and Gavin Larsen of New Zealand.

Jamshed plays a lovely shot off Narine through the covers, exquisite boundary that! Narine turning it big but has been guilty of bowling it too short so far. Ideally, he should be pitching it up with men around the bat and Misbah and Jamshed still a little circumspect. PAK 52/3 in 18.

Jamshed gets a streaky boundary just to the left of the second slip. If this batting performance is anything to go by, rest assured South Africa will be looking to employ similar tactics with the ball and aim at the throats of the Pakistani batsmen. PAK 23/3 in 10

Misbah may not be lucky this time as that Roach delivery gets the under edge of the bat and flies to Dinesh Ramdin who takes it inches off the ground! But they have gone upstairs again! Misbah survives again, the replays showed Ramdin dropped the ball in his attempt.

Pakistan will be hoping to see off some of the shine from the two new balls but must contend with the threat of Sunil Narine when Roach and Rampaul take a break. Marlon Samuels and Kieron Pollard will be the backup bowlers as the disposal of Dwayne Bravo.

Another one gone! Roach strikes again and this time Shafiq succumbs to the extra bounce. He cut that straight into the hand of Rampaul at third-man. Misbah is the new man and he has a job at his hand!

Roach gets another one! Mohammad Hafeez after smashing the earlier delivery for four through point is beaten by pace and misses a straight one! Pakistan two down and not looking good despite decent batting conditions. Asad Shafiq now walks in. PAK 14/2 in 4.3

Jamshed flays a wide Rampaul delivery through point, the pitch is offering true bounce but no real movement. The sun's been out and so far the Champions Trophy has been dominated by big batting performances, it will be interesting to see how the Asian teams fare once the clouds arrive.

Ravi Rampaul bowls a tidy second over, only a hint of swing there but nothing unplayable yet. In other news Australian captain Michael Clarke has been ruled out from his side's first match against England, raising concerns about his participation in the Ashes series later this year. It also being reported that South African fast bowler Morne Morkel could be ruled out of South Africa's second and most crucial match against Pakistan on the June 10. South African manager Mohammed Moosajee said Morkel had sustained a left quadricep muscle strain and will undergo an MRI scan to determine how serious the injury was.

There are no surprises at the top of the order for Pakistan and it will be the left-handed duo of Imran Farhat and Nasir Jamshed to take guard. There were hints that Kamran Akmal could be elevated to the top spot after he showed some form against Ireland. Kemar Roach starts the proceedings for the West Indies after a little rest and will be looking to run in right away.
