KOHAT, June 14: A man and a girl were killed and two others injured when the roof a house caved in during heavy rain in Hangu district on Thursday night.

Local people said the incident happened in Gharibano Kalay area. The victims were identified as Saima, daughter of Mohammad Farooq and Syed Umer. The injured included a boy, Shehryar, and an unidentified woman.

Heavy rain lashed the entire Kohat division during the past 24 hours, breaking the severe hot spell.

ANIMALS SEIZED: The police on Friday seized six trucks loaded with 60 buffaloes.

The cantonment police seized the trucks on a check point on Dhodha road. Truck drivers didn’t have permits to transport the cattle out of the district.

The police said after registering case they launched an investigation into the incident.

RESULTS ANNOUNCED: Seven students of Cadet College Kohat shared the top three positions in the secondary school certificate examinations results.

The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Kohat, announced the results on Friday.

Cadet Kashif secured first position with 980 marks. Similarly, cadets Mohammad Naveed Alam and Zarq Shah obtained 976 marks each, securing second position. Cadets Mohammad Zeeshan, Tanveer Ahmed Khan, Asadullah, and Faryal Niaz of Iqra Public School and College shared third position, getting 971 marks each.

According to board officials, a total of 30,272 students appeared in science group, of which 22,808 cleared the examinations. And in the arts group, 5,109 students out of a total of 9,040 passed the examinations.
