ISLAMABAD, June 16: Army Chief General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani on Sunday reiterated the army’s resolve to meet future challenges squarely.

Addressing participants of the concluding session of military war games, the Exercise Azm-i-Nau-4, at the National Defence University, he said the army in coordination with the navy and air force was fully configured and prepared to thwart any aggression against the country.

“Military success depends on being fully prepared and the support of the people of Pakistan and other state institutions,” Gen Kayani said.

He appreciated the dedication and commitment of participants of the war games and said their contribution to the exercise was of immense professional value.

Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafiq Butt also attended the ceremony, besides a large number of senior officers of the army, navy and air force.

During the war games spanning over two weeks, strategic and operational plans were crystallised and validated for developing a comprehensive response. Operational plans of the PAF were also finalised in close coordination with the army.
