LAHORE, June 16: The Concerned Citizens of Pakistan (CCP) has strongly condemned the barbaric terrorist attacks in Quetta which claimed the lives of several innocent people.
According to a press release issued here on Sunday, the CCP expressed a profound grief at the loss of 14 women students, Deputy Commissioner Mansur Khan, four nurses, as many security personnel and injuries to several other citizens.
Prior to this heinous episode, the destruction of Ziarat Residency, the final abode of Quaid-e-Azam, was also a deeply shocking act of terror which sent a clear message to Pakistan about the intentions of enemies of the state.
The CCP demands action against these miscreants who are trying to destroy Pakistan. There is an urgent need for the political leadership and the military to be on the same page as how to deal with the menace of terrorism.
The CCP questions the present leaders as how many more lives are we waiting to lose and how many more acts challenging the writ of the state are we going to tolerate before acting against the enemies of the state?
“We are a nation at war, facing proxy wars, internal dissent and collusion of dubious political forces with extremist elements not only because of erroneous beliefs but also because of vested interests. This must not be tolerated any more,” it said.
Meanwhile, the Cecil and Iris Chaudhry Foundation has also condemned the attack.
In a statement, it said the Ziarat Residency was more than just a building. It reminded the nation of the leader and the man that was Mohammed Ali Jinnah.
This was an attack on the nationalism of Pakistan and on all that Jinnah symbolized and stood for, primarily equality and the oneness of Pakistan.
It demanded that the Residency be rebuilt to its previous glory and that the perpetrators be brought to justice.
