QUETTA: Pakistan Peoples Party's (PPP) senior leader, Senator Mian Raza Rabbani said on Wednesday that Frontier Corps must be subservient to Balochistan government in order to ensure peace in the restive province.

Addressing a press conference along with Chief Minister Balochistan Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch, Senator Rabbani said that the Frontier Corps should be instructed loud and clear that it was subservient to provincial government.

He described the statement of Federal Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan regarding the FC as a good omen.

"The minister should go beyond statements", Senator Rabbani said while referring to the statement of interior minister.

He said that it was observed during the PPP's rule in the center and province, that there was lack of coordination among federal agencies operating in Balochistan.

He further said that intelligence agencies need to boost coordination with each other for ensuring peace in the militancy-hit province.

PPP leader added that his government had made FC subservient to the provincial government and had given Aghaz-e-Haqooq-e-Balochistan package to address the grievances of masses of the province.

He said power in Balochistan has been shifted from one class to another, citing election of Dr. Malik Baloch as the Chief Minister of the province.

He assured Dr. Malik Baloch that his party stands by latter's government in Balochistan. "We will support all positive steps of federal and provincial governments", Senator Rabbani said.
