SUKKUR, June 28: A married woman was shot dead inside her house in Qadirpur city, Ghotki district, on Friday.

Three men barged into the house of Akbar Sundrani in Sundrani Muhallah and opened indiscriminate fire resulting in the death of his 25-year-old wife, Mai Dadi Sundrani. The attackers then fled.

The Ghotki police moved the body to the Civil Hospital Ghotki from where it was handed over to relatives after medico-legal formalities. No case was registered till Friday night.

Man, woman killed over ‘karo-kari’

A young man and a woman were shot dead on the pretext of Karo-kari on Friday near Garhi Khero in Jacobabad district, said the police. They were identified as Nokhab and Saleem Khatoon.

Nokhab, a resident of Osta Mohammad, had come with his mother for her medical checkup to Khangi Pull area in Miranpur Buriro when he was shot dead by unidentified men who later fled the scene.

The attackers later went to Osta Mohammad where they killed Saleem Khatoon in her house and fled the scene.

Police suspect three men, Ali Gul Mandrani, Muhammad Gul Mandrani and Mir Jan Mandrani, committed the double murder on the pretext of Karo-kari.

However relatives of Nokhab claim that he was not involved in any way with the second victim.
