KARACHI: The recent visit of the British Prime Minister David Cameron to Pakistan will have a positive impact on the country's future, said Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan.

He was talking to British High Commissioner to Pakistan Adam Thomson, who called on him at the Governor house here on Wednesday.

British Deputy High Commissioner in Karachi John Tucknott was also present on the occasion, says a statement issued by the governor house.

Ibad said that the British premier visited Pakistan at a time when the democracy was flourishing.

He stated that it was the government’s endeavour to attain economic stability.

The governor further said that David Cameron’s visit in such a situation suggests that the Western World was viewing a positive change in Pakistan and the confidence of the investors was also growing which augurs well.

He was of the view that for strengthening the democracy on a solid basis also requires that its fruits reach the masses in the shape of economic development.

Dr Ibad pointed out that in the recent past many of the British companies have invested in Karachi and that this investment is gradually growing. He was of the view that some famous British brands have also indicated the opening of LCs.

Thomson appreciated the efforts of the Sindh governor for persuading the British investors during his visit to UK to come up with investment in Pakistan and especially in the city of Karachi.
