ATTOCK, July 4: The district Police decided to setup a Police Post at newly constructed Attock-Hattian road to ensure safe traveling of the motorists and others road users.

The district police’s spokesman informed here on Thursday that it was decided by the district police officer Abdul Kadir Qamar during the visit of road.

However time being, strict surveillance is being kept through round the clock police patrolling at this Attock-Hattian road, they claimed.

It also worth mentioning here that such measures have been taken by the district police headquarters following a robbery attempt of a Lahore bound luxury bus some days back while passing Attock-Hattian road, which is a major link with main GT road.

However, the passengers were unhurt as the bus’s driver foiled the robbery attempt speeding away the vehicle instead of stopping on the signal of the unknown armed robbers. Such incidents not only created sense of insecurity among the road users but also jolted the district police to take some serious measures to avoid such type of act in future and also for the safe traveling.

Meanwhile Police have retested a watchman of new Benazir International airport on the charges of allegedly stealing expensive waste material of Rs 0.5 million from the project site.

Police sources said that watchman Razi shah resident of Malhu village was arrested and also recovered iron pipes, cables and drums etc worth Rs 0.5 million from his possession, which he has allegedly stolen from the site of new under construction Benazir International Airport. New Airport Police station Fatehjang has also registered a theft case against the accused watchman and further investigation is underway.
