Load-shedding exemption during Sehri, Iftari and Tarawih: Pervez Rasheed

LAHORE: Federal Information Minister Pervez Rasheed said on Saturday that no electricity load-shedding would take place during Sehri, Iftar and Tarawih prayer timings in the month of Ramadan and predicted that the government would bring the price of electricity to Rs 10 per unit within three years, DawnNews reported.

The senior Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) leader was addressing an event hosted by the Electronic Media Reporters Association during which he said that the country's electricity demand stood at 17,000 megawatts whereas the current generation capacity was 13,500 megawatts.

He expressed hopes that the electricity production capacity would soon increase to the demand level of 17,000 megawatts.

He also predicted that the government would bring down the per unit price of electricity to Rs 10 within the next three years.
