SWABI, July 9: A police post was attacked with hand grenades by suspected militants in Bamkhel area late on Monday night. However, no loss of life or property was reported.

Separately, bomb disposal squad personnel defused two bombs planted by unknown miscreants at a religious seminary on Tuesday morning.

Officials said this was the second attack on the police post in Bamkhel. “The assailants managed to escape after the incident,” said an official.

Meanwhile, police said they were informed by local residents that some suspected material was lying on the premises of Shah Mansoor Madrassah.

They said police and bomb disposal squad personnel reached the spot and cordoned off the seminary for search. “The BDS personnel defused both the bombs; one of which was planted near the boundary wall while the other was placed inside the building,” said an official.

The official said two BDS personnel were killed while defusing a bomb planted in a school in Jamal Abad the other day.
