THATTA, July 10: After his induction into the Sindh cabinet as a minister for housing, town planning and public health engineering, Syed Awais Muzaffar aka Tappi was welcomed by a jubilant crowd when his motorcade arrived in Thatta.

Mr Muzaffar was elected for the first time to the provincial assembly from Ghorabari (PS-88) in Thatta district in this year’s general election.

An excited crowd led by former PPP MPA Humera Alwani welcomed Mr Muzaffar in Thatta with a beating of traditional drums. They participants also marched through thoroughfares of Thatta and Makli towns chanting slogans and distributing sweets.

Speaking to the supporters, Ms Alwani said that Ghorabari and the entire Thatta district would undergo exceptional development during Mr Muzaffar’s tenure.—BoC
