KARACHI, April 20: Top two seeds — Abdul Rehman and Mustafa Tariq — were through to the singles final of the third AKU Inter-university tennis tournament at the AKU hard courts on Friday evening.
Top seed Rehman was awarded the semi-final when his opponent Aamir Darvesh retired hurt midway through the second set while trailing 0-3. Earlier, Rehman had won the opener 6-1.
Tariq accounted for Ahmed Zaheer 6-3, 6-2 in the other fixture.
Meanwhile, Iqra University defeated Aga Khan University Whites 3-2 to qualify for the team event final.
In another match, Institute of Business Administration (IBA) defeated Aga Khan University Greens by the identical score of 3-2.
