LAHORE, April 22: The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) will donate 100 sticks and as many hockey balls to its Afghanistan counterpart besides providing other technical assistance.

An MoU in this regard was signed by PHF secretary Asif Bajwa and Afghanistan Hockey Federation head M. Masawi on Monday.

According to the MoU, Afghanistan U-16, Whites and Colours teams will also participate in Pakistan’s domestic events.

Later talking to media, Asif said the PHF had already provided technical assistance to Afghanistan and it had sent one of its coaches Ashfaq to train the players in Afghanistan.

Bajwa said the PHF would also help Afghanistan in developing its infrastructure.

Masawi thanked the PHF for its support. He said there was no Astro-turf in Afghanistan and his federation would also seek assistance from other countries.

He said the game of hockey was quite popular in his country.
