LAHORE, April 30: Five more matches were decided in the 2nd Motorway Police U-16 Boys’ hockey championship at the National Hockey Stadium here on Tuesday.

One goal each by Ihtasham (40th minute) and Sharab Ahmad (56th) helped Mirpurkhas beat Kohat 2-0 with both the goals being scored through short-corner.

In the other match, two-goal Sajjad Aziz helped Larkana beat Hyderabad 3-0. Sajjad struck in the 24th and 58th minutes with Nigarish netting in the 46th.

Swat brushed aside Sukkur 8-1 after taking 6-1 lead in the first half during the third match of the U-16 event.

Sohail Abbas scored four goals (29th, 35th, 50th, 57th minutes) while Taimoor Khan added two in the second and 10th minutes with Hamza and Aqeel firing one each in the 12th and 36th minutes.

The only goal by the losing side came from Mohammad Daniyal in the 19th minute.

Lahore crushed Fata 13-1 in the fourth match with Arslan and Rana Sohail contributing four and three goals, respectively while Adeel produced two goals.

Also, Awais-ur-Rehman, Shan, Ahad and Asif chipped in with one goal each with Mohsin being the lone scorer for Fata.

The fifth match saw Quetta beat Mardan 2-1with Quetta’s Saqib helping his team in 32nd minute seal victory against Mardan.

After Fawad earned the lead for the losing side by scoring a field goal in the 11th minute, Jehangir made it 1-1 in the 14th minute before Saqib earned the winner.

Four more matches will be played on Wednesday.
