KARACHI: Lawyers observed a strike and boycotted all court proceedings across Sindh, against the killing of their colleague in Karachi a day earlier, causing severe hardships  to many people and undertrial prisoners, DawnNews reported.

An advocate of the Sindh High Court (SHC) and two of his children were killed Tuesday when gunmen opened fire on his car at Maripur road near Native Jetty bridge in Karachi.

The people affected by the strike were of the view that though the lawyers were justified in their protests but they should choose some other mode to protests which would not cause hardships to other people.

The protesting lawyers said that they were being targeted and killed in broad daylight and that they were left no other choice but to protest the incidents by boycotting court proceedings.

The added that their protests would continue if lawyers were not provided with adequate protection.
