KARACHI, May 22: Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali has emphasized Pakistan’s principled stand on Kashmir and reaffirmed his government’s commitment to a composite, step-by-step dialogue with India.
Responding to reporters’ questions at the inauguration of one-window operation at the PIDC house here on Thursday, the prime minister said that while Pakistan’s stand on the Kashmir issue was based on principles, his government was nevertheless ready to engage itself in dialogue on the resumption of economic, cultural and sports relations between the two countries.
He said the naming of High Commissioner to India was delayed because the foreign minister was abroad. Now that he has returned, a decision would be taken after due consultation, he added. He told a questioner that three or four names were under consideration for the job, but refused to disclose them.—Staff Reporter
