KOHAT, May 22: The National Database Registration Authority has agreed to initially computerize four Kohat police stations under the new reforms.

The computers, which were released to the district police on Thursday, would be installed in the City, Cantt, Saddar and Janglekhel police stations, and would be used for keeping all types of record, including the FIRs and data concerning the criminal elements.

A software is being developed to provide instant information to the SSP and DIG region about the daily performance. It would take about a month before the system is fully equipped and the police staff trained, the ASP headquarters told Dawn on Thursday.

He said that at a latter stage the system at the district level would be connected with all the police stations of the country for making policing more efficient. This would help a lot in knowing about the criminals, their arrest and other information like crime rate, he said.
