PESHAWAR: Deputy Commandant of Frontier Reserve Police (FRP) Gul Wali was injured while his gunman and driver were killed as four motorcylce-riding attackers ambushed their vehicle in Gulbahar area of Peshawar

Assistant Superintendent of Police Peshawar City Ismail Kharak told that the deputy commandant Gul Wali Khan was travelling to office from his home when the attackers riding two motorbikes ambushed his pick-up from both sides of the roads.

The body guard and the driver were killed while Gul Wali sustained injuries.

Wali was shifted to Lady Reading Hospital for treatment where doctors declared his condition out of danger.

Though no one has claimed the responsibility for the attack but the officials believe the outlawed militant group Tehreek-i-Taliban might be behind the attack.

Provincial Information and Health Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shaukat Ali Yousafzai said that the condition Gul Wali Khan was out of danger.

Yousafzai added that the police officer had sustained minor injury to his small intestine which was operated upon and now he is out of danger.

Peshawar is the gateway to Pakistan's troubled northwestern tribal region where troops have for years been locked in deadly battles with insurgents.
