QUETTA: A PML-N leader was shot dead in Khuzdar on Wednesday night, Levies sources said.

Mir Abdul Qadir Zarakzai was on his way when unidentified attackers opened fire at him in Zehri area of Khuzdar district, leaving him seriously injured. He died while being taken to hospital.

Levies sources said: “Unidentified armed assailants riding a motorbike attacked and opened fire at Mir Abdul Qadir Zarakzai, a leader of the PML-N Balochistan, leaving him seriously wounded,” adding that Mr Zarakzai succumbed to injuries on way to hospital.

According to doctors, Mr Zarakzai received multiple bullet wounds.

Mr Zarkzai was a close associate of Senior Provincial Minister and PML-N president of Balochistan chapter, Sardar Sanaullah Zehri.

The incident created tension in the area and law-enforcement agencies carried out a search operation to arrest the attackers.
