KARACHI, Aug 7: The seventh National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) Cup basketball tournament takes place at the Arambagh floodlit court from Aug 18-25 with 12 teams, including three from interior of Sindh, vying for honours, organisers said on Wednesday.

According to organising secretary, Abdul Nasir, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, and Larkana will join nine local outfits in the weeklong event.

The local teams include two each from district south, district east, district malir and district central and one from district west.

Nasir added that Sukkur has expressed its inability to compete in the event.

According to him, the draws of the event will be taken out after Eid-ul-fitr. Cash prizes of Rs30,000 will be up for grabs for the winners and runners-up of the contest from a proposed budget of Rs1,25,000 that has been set aside by the bank.
