LAHORE: The Punjab Assembly adopted a unanimous resolution on Monday, condemning the ongoing ‘Indian aggression’ along the Line of Control.

Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah presented the resolution on behalf of the treasury and opposition.

The resolution said: “The house condemns the ongoing Indian aggression at the LoC as it is a violation of international laws. This house…[calls upon] the federal government to raise the matter at international forum. The international community should take notice of Indian aggression and force it [Indian government] to abide by the international laws.

“First, India blamed Pakistan for the killing of its two soldiers which is not true. Then on…[this] pretext, it began unprovoked firing at LoC, targeting Pakistani soldiers as well as citizens. This house expresses sadness over the killings as a result of Indian aggression and pray for the departed souls,” the resolution said.

Some legislators tried to speak against India during a debate on the Local Government Bill but the speaker advised them to confine their comments to the topic under discussion.
