KOHAT, Aug 25: Two militants were killed and 12 others were arrested by security forces during an operation in Hangu on Sunday, sources said.

They said that the operation was conducted jointly by police, army and Frontier Constabulary in Mohallah Alsheravi in Hangu city.

The operation was launched after security forces got information about presence of some terrorists in the area.

The security forces surrounded a house to arrest the terrorists but they faced stiff resistance form the militants. Two militants were killed and 12 were arrested alive in the operation. The arrested persons were in the custody of army for interrogation, officials said.

Meanwhile, police destroyed several hideouts of criminals after exchanging fire with them in Nasratkhel area in Kohat.
