KARACHI, Oct 11: The Sindh government will soon hand over the physical possession of some portions of the St Lawrence Govt Girls College to the body which had been running the institution before its nationalisation in 1972, sources in the Sindh Education Department said.

The first and second floors of the building, comprising about ten rooms, were vacated by the Sindh Education Department in August, but the physical possession was not handed over to the Franciscan Sisters Missionary of Mary at that time.

The college was nationalised along with a school in the same premises in 1970s. Later on, the school was returned to the parent body, but the college portion was retained by the government for running an intermediate college for girls.

Sources said that after meeting the formalities the old premises of the college would be handed over soon to the society concerned, which had promised to use the place for furtherance of its educational programme.
