PPP decides to become party in Benazir murder case

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Peoples Party decided on Thursday to become party in the Benazir Bhutto murder case and in this regards submitted two applications to gain access to the case records.

Moreover PPP's Secretary-General Sardar Latif Khosa would be counsel for the party in the case.

A public prosecutor had been advocating the case prior to the decision.The PPP on its exit from power had decided to lead the case itself.

The trial of the accused persons, including former president Pervez Musharraf, in the Benazir Bhutto murder case started afresh for the third time in the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) here on Tuesday.

The former military ruler General (retd) Pervez Musharraf was indicted on three counts on Aug 20 this year, in Rawalpindi's anti-terrorism court (ATC) over the 2007 murder of ex-prime minister Benazir Bhutto.
