It is sad the largest city of Pakistan is being controlled by militants belonging to ethnic political parties and groups who can kill in broad daylight.

As per the stats given, I think LEA should not have any problem in doing the operation. But But But... if they are really willing to do it...

The most violent flash point in the world is Palistan. Karachi is just a small part. Take care of the greater problem first.

It seems like the writer belongs to MQM, which totally explains the biased reporting here.

In the jurisdiction of Jamshed Quarters is also Lines Area where my close relatives were looted on gun point in the first half of this month and today two families were also looted near Taj Complex/Hospital which comes under Brigade Police station. Police in this area is seen no where after 9 pm.

Very interesting and knowledgeable facts. The remedy will be possible if lawenforcement agencies should act honestly to curb the crime. Otherwise this operation will be fail as in past

It is a pity that DAWN had put the all the responsibility of terrorism on TTP and hadn't named any political parties who have been identified even by Supreme Court of Pakistan. Moreover, Karachi is facing some kind of terrorism since last 25 years. Who was responsible for terrorism at that point of time when as per report TTP has recently gain some control in Karachi.

With the present CM and Governor, we cannot expect anything, there is no control on the entry and exit points in Karachi. This is extremely shameful for Nawaz Shariff. All areas of Karachi looks like Jamaica, even DHA people are moving freely with guns

Quite an alarming picture. What's more alarming is how some areas of Karachi are still not included/shaded in this map which obviously means a larger figure of dead people, since that is what human lives have been reduced to now: mere figures.

This operation will be most unique in our country's history where criminals are told to hide before it starts. They have already disappeared and will be back with more force in few months.

Great job govt. for alerting the terrorists in advance of the operation. I also think that until and unless Karachi is completely sealed off 24/7 with checkpoints there will be no peace here ever again. This operation will be useless. Think about it, by the time operation takes place the looters can go under ground.
